The Teppanyaki plate is the flagship of our Kucino 19 model, let’s discover together a tasty recipe that is easy and quick to prepare on this plate for outdoor kitchens, typical of Japanese cuisine.

What can I cook on Teppanyaki?

Quick answer: a lot of things; thorough answer: let’s first explain what we are talking about. The cooking device for making Teppanyaki is called teppan and has a flat metal surface. Teppan works comparable to a grill. Above it you can cook anything, including: steak, chicken, seafood, vegetables, okonomiyaki or even yakisoba noodles.

Removed this doubt, let’s start immediately with a classic:

Teppanyaki beef

To cook Teppanyaki beef we will need the following ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet cooking wine (mirin)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
  • ½ kilo of beef morsels, cut into very thin slices
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Preparation

Once the ingredients are ready, combine the soy sauce, mirin, garlic powder, black pepper and ground ginger together in a bowl. Add the sliced meat and mix well. The meat must be marinated in the bowl for at least an hour.

Put the oil on the griddle and heat it over medium-high heat. Fry the beef slices for about 10 minutes and arrange them on a serving dish. Pour the leftover marinade sauce into a small saucepan, heating it over low heat. Add the mirin and simmer for about a couple of minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.

All that remains is to pour the sauce over the meat and serve your guests. Enjoy their astonished gaze, perhaps accompanying it all with a good glass of red wine, stored in the special cell of your Vidali Outdoor Kitchen.
